04/23/2024Meet the Loyal Companions of the Drivers and Staff
Life on the road can be ruff (pun intended!), but at Trailer Transit, we know having a furry friend by your side can make all the difference. Our company prides itself on being a home away from home for our owner operators, and that extends to their four-legged (and maybe even eight-legged) companions!
In this blog we’re taking the opportunity to showcase some of the Pets of Trailer Transit, a group of our favorite travel buddies gracing our trucks and offices. These furry (and scaly) friends bring a unique kind of joy to the Trailer Transit family.
Alex belongs to Jan, Trailer Transit’s Administrative Manager. This little pug is 17 years young and still doing therapy dog work at hospitals, nursing homes, schools, etc.
Driver: Nick
“Sasha my road dog” – She is Siberian Husky, Australian Shepherd, Blue Heeler, and Pitbull. Nick got her a few years ago for Christmas. He says she’s a weird one – she sleeps with her legs straight up, otherwise she pushes him off the bed. When they’re near a open field she gets major zoomies and looks like a dart. As everyone in the office knows, she’s a lover girl.
Drivers: Cindy & John
Cindy and John have two travel buddies, Jumbalina and Ginger.
- Jumbalina is around 7 years old. She is a Bea-tzu, half Beagle and half Shih-tzu.
- Ginger is a Morkie (Maltese-Yorkie). She’s 18 yrs old.
Driver: Kevin
“My bully, Bella… she is two years old weighing in at 84 pounds.” She is trained and goes with him everywhere. His best friend gave Bella to him because he just wanted a dog. Kevin says “the best thing I could have gotten was her” She is great with his kids and she never meets a stranger! She loves the monster jam tour and Kevin thinks the people like her more than him!
Driver: Michelle M.
This is Bentley! He’s just turned 2. Michelle rescued him from going to the pound. He weighs around 75lbs and is a big baby!
Driver: Steven
Steven laughed as he talked about his service dog. “He is ten going on two.” They go everywhere together. He is very spoiled and very vocal when he is happy. “Whenever I stop somewhere he always jumps up in the driver’s seat and watches me.” Other drivers think it’s great and ask to take his picture.
Driver: Tony
This is Dixie, a Yorkshire Terrier who is about nine years old. “Sometimes I think about bringing the dog out but she’s a pain in the truck. She always wants me to hold her cause she can’t see out. She’s picky and sleeps on my side of the bed when I’m gone. She stays home with her mama.” Her nickname is “Piglet”!
Driver: Curt
Here are Mollie and AJ, who are owned by our owner operator, Curt. Mollie is 7 and AJ is 12.
Life of Pets & Owner Operators at Trailer Transit
Did you know that Trailer Transit is especially paw-sitive (okay, we’ll stop with the pet puns) for power only drivers? We offer a supportive atmosphere that encourages you to bring your pet along for the ride – it’s your rig after all – creating a sense of normalcy and companionship during those long stretches on the open road.
Joe is one of Trailer Transit’s Dispatch Operators.
Joe has several friends he’s sharing with us. You’re in for a treat!
- Eevee is a beautiful American Staffordshire who’s about 7 or 8 years old.
- This is Omen, a Siberian Husky. He is about 10 months old and “is vocal as hell. Always yelling at me!”
- Now, for a non-traditional pet! Meet Rafiki, a male Albino Hognose Snake! Joe describes him as a “feisty little noodle.”
- Next, an extremely non-traditional pet, a Western Black Widow with no name.
- And finally, here’s Frantic, a Poecilotheria Metallica Tarantula which will continue to turn more blue as it ages!
Thanks Joe, for giving us a little peek at your unusual family!
Driver: Skyler
Her name is Tutti, she’s a blue heeler who is around 14 years old. Skyler adopted her from the Salt Lake City humane society and she’s been in the truck and on the road with him since 2013.
Driver: Johnny
This is Little Joe, a Jack Russell mix and he is 6 years old. “He’s been my co-driver for five years – all 48 states.”
Chris in Trailer Transit’s Operations Department:
Theo (the white Maltipoo) will be 7 in September. We’re glad that Chris also shared a wonderful picture of two pets that are very much missed. “I had 3 animals but in the past year had to put down Rascal (cat) & Milo (Yorkie) and it felt weird not including or mentioning these two.”
Driver: Sammy
Meet Sammy’s two German Shepherds, Jaeger, who is 8 months and Marshall, who is 4 years old. “These two boys travel with me everywhere.”
Calling all pet-lovin' haulers!
If you’re an owner-operator or power only driver looking for a company that understands the importance of hauling your way, and having your furry friend by your side, look no further than Trailer Transit! We offer competitive rates, flexible leasing options, and a supportive work family that welcomes both you and your pet with open arms.
Driver: Neal
Harley the tour dog… He was given to Neal by another Trailer Transit Driver while on tour with Disney On Ice and he’s been a tour dog ever since. Harley will be 6 the end of March and loves his life on the road with Neal. Nope he’s not spoiled, so he says! “We know God saved him just for us.”
Driver Leonard
And this is Harley’s girlfriend, Maggie May. She is seven years old and such a playful pup! She also lives the tour life with her dad in their Bulldog truck. She loves visiting the office at Trailer Transit!
Linda is a Settlement Clerk in our Accounting Department
Linda hadn’t had a dog in over 10 years, but “we got ‘puppy fever’ and there was no turning back!” Leo is a 3 month old toy poodle weighing in at a whopping 4lbs. “He is our baby!”
Driver: Melissa
Melissa introduces us to her crew of three!
- “My senior most copilot Winston. He may or may not have had his last ride in the truck – I say that every time and then he’s still hanging in there!” Winston is 18 years old and has probably close to 2 million miles!
- And this is Louie. He’s a very chill cat. He and his sister Lala are very good trucking kitties.
- This is Harmony. She is only a few years old and a wonderful trucking dog! Melissa got her from a rescue in Shreveport.
Driver: Michelle W.
Ryder (Vizsla) will be 5 in May and Reya (Dachshund) will be 3 in May.
Driver: Fred
Here’s Harlee Quin. She will be 4 in August. She is a road dog and bike dog!
Tina from Trailer Transit’s Licensing Department:
These pups are Sammie and Sophie. They are Shih-Poos (Shih Tzu-Poodle mix) and they are both 12 years old.
